So it is finally official...I am a resident of Hong Kong. In true HK fashion the process we completely pain free and super efficent, and in a matter of minutes I was ushered through to a formal interview (a 30 second chat), then had my photo taken as was then handed my temporary ID and told that I could return within 5-7 days to collect my official ID. Apart from my horror at my rather odd pose for the picture (in fairness I was never asked to ok it) I was rather impressed by the whole process and can see why Hong Kong is such a booming city...I rather fear the process would have taken a few months back in Europe, if they even let me into the country in the first place that is:)
